Premium lessonThe organs (Zang-Fu)

Spleen, Liver, and Kidney

Transformation and transportation, the smooth flow of Qi, and the root of Yin and Yang for the whole body.

Lesson 13 of 26
Course: Acupuntura I

How it starts

If the Kidney is the prenatal root, the Spleen is the postnatal root: everything the body replenishes each day passes through it. In a Western practice, with its load of chronic fatigue, digestive trouble, and functional disorders, it is probably the organ you will treat most often.

The rest of the lesson opens with Acupuntura I.

In this lesson you will learn

  • Explain the functions of the Spleen, Liver, and Kidney and recognize how they fail.
  • Differentiate the patterns of each organ, including the ones that resemble each other.
  • Understand why the Spleen is the starting point of almost every tonifying treatment.
  • Grasp the special position of the Kidney as the root of Yin and Yang.

What is inside

  2. 2The Liver · 肝 · the general
  3. 3The Kidney · 肾 · the root
