Course: Acupuntura I

How it starts

Until now you have heard about "the twelve channels" as if they were the whole system. They are not: they are the main trunk of an architecture with six levels, and several of those levels explain things the twelve channels cannot explain on their own—for example, why acupuncture works so well on a muscle contracture, or why a channel that never reaches the face can still treat it.

The rest of the lesson opens with Acupuntura I.

In this lesson you will learn

  • List the components of the Jing Luo system and explain what each one is for.
  • Explain why only fourteen channels have points of their own.
  • Understand the role of the sinew channels in treating pain.
  • Place the eight Extraordinary Vessels as the reservoirs of the system.

What is inside

  1. 1Jing and Luo: the warp and the weft
  2. 2The twelve primary channels
  3. 3The Luo channels: the transverse network
  4. 4The divergent channels: the deep connection
  5. 5The sinew channels: the lesson you will use most
  6. 6The cutaneous regions
