Premium lessonThe grammar of points

Mu and Back-Shu points

The front-back pair for each organ, and why the back is diagnostic as well as therapeutic.

17 min
Lesson 4 of 27
Course: Acupuncture II

How it starts

Every organ has two points that represent it: one in front and one behind. It is the most direct pairing there is between a point on the surface and an organ, and it is also the best hands-on exam the tradition offers.

The rest of the lesson opens with Acupuncture II.

In this lesson you will learn

  • Locate all twelve Front-Mu points and all twelve Back-Shu points.
  • Use palpation of the first line of the Bladder channel as a diagnostic exam.
  • Apply the Shu-Mu combination and know when to use each one on its own.
  • Find the spirit points of the second line.
