How it starts

The Spleen is the channel of digestion, Dampness, and gynecology. Together with the Lung it forms the Tai Yin layer. It contains SP6, which, after ST36 and LI4, is probably the third most used point on the body, and also one of the most important contraindications you need to know.

The rest of the lesson opens with Acupuncture II.

In this lesson you will learn

  • Locate the pathway and the twenty-one points of the channel.
  • Master SP3, SP6, SP9, and SP10.
  • Apply the contraindication of SP6 in pregnancy without hesitation.
  • Understand the crossing of the three Yin channels 8 cun above the medial malleolus.

A systematic tour of the fourteen channels and their points: categories (Five Shu points, Yuan, Luo, Xi, Mu, Back-Shu, Hui, confluent), the pathway of each channel, key points with their exact locations, the eight extraordinary vessels, the extra points, and the rules for combining points.

  • Choose a point by its category, not from a memorized list.
