Yin-Yang: the four laws
Opposition, interdependence, mutual consumption, and transformation. With the diagram of the four imbalanced situations.
How it starts
Yin and Yang are not two substances, two energies, or two cosmic forces. They are a way of comparing. It is the oldest analytical tool in the system and also the most mistreated: the esoteric textbook version (the feminine and the masculine, the dark and the luminous) is useless in the treatment room. The useful version is drier and far more powerful.
The rest of the lesson opens with Acupuntura I.
In this lesson you will learn
- Use Yin and Yang as a relational tool rather than a fixed label.
- State and recognize the four laws, with clinical examples.
- Tell excess from deficiency at the bedside, the distinction that is missed most often.
- Derive the treatment principle from the four basic imbalances.
