Name and classical tradition

Jianli, 建里, means "Build the Interior." 建 means to build, establish, or strengthen; 里 (裡) is the interior, as opposed to 表, the exterior, and here the abdominal organs. The usual gloss describes it as the point that strengthens the digestive center, and the functional name is transparent. It lies between CV10 and CV12, in the middle of the series of stomach points.

The first work to record it is the Zhenjiu Jiayi Jing (Systematic Classic of Acupuncture and Moxibustion). It is one of the few Ren Mai points for which no alternative name has been found.

Protocols for the 20 patterns you see most in practice

Each pattern with its tongue, its pulse, the treatment principle and the points to tonify and disperse. Made for the treatment table, not the bookshelf.

Do you use CV11 with your patients?

In the Clinic you record it in the patient's file, next to the tongue, the pulse and the measurements, so at the next session you know exactly what you used. The Atlas is built in.
