Name and classical tradition

Yiming, 翳明, is “the one that clears the film over the eye.” 翳 is the opacity, the film that clouds vision, the same character that appears in TE17, Yifeng, “the screen of the wind,” next to which it sits; 明 is clarity. The name combines that of its neighbor with the promise of restoring light to the eyes.

It is a point of modern acupuncture. It does not appear in the classical works we were able to check, and it entered the repertoires in the twentieth century because of its use in eye disorders and insomnia. It lies one cun behind Yifeng, behind the earlobe.

Do you use EX-HN13 with your patients?

In the Clinic you record it in the patient's file, next to the tongue, the pulse and the measurements, so at the next session you know exactly what you used. The Atlas is built in.
