Name and classical tradition

Erbai, 二白, are the “two whites.” 二, two: there are two points on each forearm, one on each side of the palmaris longus tendon, four cun above the wrist crease. The 白 in the name has no certain explanation in the texts.

The Zhenjiu Dacheng (Great Compendium of Acupuncture and Moxibustion) describes both: “二白四穴…在掌後橫紋,中直上四寸,一手有二穴,一穴在筋內兩筋間,即間使後一寸,一穴在筋外.” Four points across the two hands: one between the tendons, one cun behind Jianshi, PC5, and another outside the tendon. Its indication is very specific: “治痔脫肛,” hemorrhoids and rectal prolapse, and that is how it has continued to be used.

Each pattern with its tongue, its pulse, the treatment principle and the points to tonify and disperse. Made for the treatment table, not the bookshelf.

Do you use EX-UE2 with your patients?

In the Clinic you record it in the patient's file, next to the tongue, the pulse and the measurements, so at the next session you know exactly what you used. The Atlas is built in.
