Name and classical tradition

Yuyao, 鱼腰, is the "waist of the fish." 鱼 (魚), fish; 腰, waist. The image is of the eyebrow as an elongated fish, with the head by the nose and the tail at the temple: the point is at its middle, where the waist would be.

The Zhenjiu Dacheng (Great Compendium of Acupuncture and Moxibustion) lists it among the points outside the channels: "魚腰二穴,在眉中間是穴,治眼生垂廉翳膜,針入一分,沿皮向兩旁是也". It is at the center of the eyebrow, is used for the films that cover the eye, and is needled to one fen, running along the skin toward the sides. It has two channel neighbors on the eyebrow: BL2, Zanzhu, at its head, and TE23, Sizhukong, at its tail.

Do you use EX-HN4 with your patients?

In the Clinic you record it in the patient's file, next to the tongue, the pulse and the measurements, so at the next session you know exactly what you used. The Atlas is built in.
