Name and classical tradition

Jiachengjiang, 夹承浆, means “on either side of Chengjiang”: 夹 (夾), to flank, to lie on both sides; 承浆 (承漿) is CV24, the point at the center of the mentolabial groove, “the one that receives the fluids.” They are two points, one cun from it, over the mental foramen.

The name is formed like that of EX-BW2, the Jiaji of the spine, from a reference point, and it does not appear in the classical works we were able to check, so its textual history remains unclear. Because of its position it has been used for toothache and facial paralysis.
