Name and classical tradition

Zhongquan, 中泉, is the “spring of the center,” at the center of the dorsum of the wrist, between LI5, Yangxi, and TE4, Yangchi.

The Zhenjiu Dacheng (Great Compendium of Acupuncture and Moxibustion) describes exactly that location, but under another name: “湧泉二穴,在手背腕中,在陽谿陽池中間陷中是穴,灸二七壯,治心痛及腹中諸氣,疼不可忍.” It calls it Yongquan, “gushing spring,” the same name as KI1 on the sole of the foot, and uses it with moxa for heart pain and abdominal pains. The current name, Zhongquan, avoids that confusion and keeps the water of the ancient name.

Protocols for the 20 patterns you see most in practice

Each pattern with its tongue, its pulse, the treatment principle and the points to tonify and disperse. Made for the treatment table, not the bookshelf.

Do you use EX-UE3 with your patients?

In the Clinic you record it in the patient's file, next to the tongue, the pulse and the measurements, so at the next session you know exactly what you used. The Atlas is built in.
