Name and classical tradition

Naohui, 臑会, is the “meeting of the arm.” 臑 is the fleshy part of the arm, the region of the triceps and humerus, the same character found in LI14, Binao, and SI10, Naoshu; 会 (會) is the meeting. The name alludes to a meeting of channels at this location. The first work to record it is the Zhenjiu Jiayi Jing (Systematic Classic of Acupuncture and Moxibustion).

Several sources agree that it is a crossing point of the Triple Energizer with the Yang Wei Mai. The compendia give it two alternative names consistent with that function: 臑髎, “hollow of the arm,” and 臑交, “crossing of the arm.”

Protocols for the 20 patterns you see most in practice

Each pattern with its tongue, its pulse, the treatment principle and the points to tonify and disperse. Made for the treatment table, not the bookshelf.

Do you use TE13 with your patients?

In the Clinic you record it in the patient's file, next to the tongue, the pulse and the measurements, so at the next session you know exactly what you used. The Atlas is built in.
